(No spoilers) Okay, the first season wasn’t perfect, but it was still fun and kept things moving. THIS season, however, not only ignores continuity, but ignores the continuity established in the first part of the season and moves at a pace that envies the speed of tree sloths racing snails. There was no reason for this story to be a whole season. You can really tell there were episodes whose soul purpose were filler. Instead of exploring and expanding on concepts they established, interesting plot points are wasted to get to the filler. Not to mention the key “mysteries/twists” are telegraphed from three miles away. I can’t imagine who in the writer’s room thought ANYONE would be surprised by the so-called twists. The main lesson to be learned here is that when asking to bring back beloved characters from thought-provoking shows of days gone by, be very careful what you wish for.

This season was so terrible I couldn’t even finish it. Paramount needs to stop making new Star Trek.
